As the title says, after around nine months living in my car, on friends floors, couches, spare beds, spare rooms, etc, I’ve settled down in Barcelona España (Spain) to live with my girl! I’ve been here about six weeks now, and although we’ve had our ups and downs, overall, it’s going pretty well, I think.

On top of that, I stopped by the US of A again for a month on the way. There I spent time trying to motivate the lazy and scared to setup FreeEMS on their cars. I succeeded with one and we got Sean’s 500hp LT1 Turbo Camaro running and running nicely on it. Abe was less enthusiastic and I had some circuit trouble with a 400whp Volvo 245 coupe that I attempted an install on. 1/3 ain’t bad, I guess. My time in the US on this trip took me to Phoenix Arizona, Sunny San Diego and Dirty Los Angeles. I also visited the San Gabriel fire department for their open day and took a few pic of their ancient old fire truck, which was quite simply beautiful.

So, where to next? Probably back home to show my girl my country and allow it to do what I’ve already done to her - steal her heart.

There may be some minor side shows to Madrid and other parts of Spain, or even Poland, though, as that trip is likely to be some time away!

Could it be that the travel madness has come to an end? Will I finally be able to relax and get some mental rest? Time will tell, wish me luck!

Hasta luego amig@s!

Well, when I last posted, I’d been here and there, and was planning a few more stops! Some happened, some didn’t, still more unexpected visits happened too! I don’t have time to be thorough, but here is a brief update for anyone curious :

After England:

Barcelona for 3 weeks

England for 3 weeks

Barcelona for 3 weeks including:

Valencia for 2 days

Munich for 10 days including:

Innsbruck for a day

Neuschwanstein Castle for a day

USA for 3 months, visiting 24 states, covering 21500km, including:

Calgary Canada for a day/night

NewMarket and Toronto Canada for 3 days

Back to NZ, Whangarei Heads to the headlands south of Wellington and lots of places including Taupo in between for 5 months.

Chicago for 1 month

South East China for 1 month including:

Hongkong for 2 part days

Back to NZ, 2 weeks of madness preparing for the next adventure…

London for 5 days

Barcelona with my lovely Isabel for 3.5 weeks

Vancouver and Victoria BC Canada for 3 or 4 days

Back to NZ, 72 days homeless, broke, jobless living in my car and visiting friends, because I spent all the money I had to visit Isabel ♥ I’ve been from The headlands south of Wellington to Cape Reinga in that time, so many amazingly beautiful sights!

The adventure continues!

Right now I’m focussing on tidying up the many loose ends that have formed in the, entirely crazy and spontaneous, last year and a half!

I’ll upload some of the 50,000+ photos that I’ve taken in all of those places at some stage, but don’t hold your breath for it!

My one comment: Travelling like this makes you tired, mentally.

Till next time I find a minute to spare… Fred!

My first travel blog post!

I thought I’d better start writing on this blog as I’m about to embark on some significant travelling. My Intent for this blog is to catalogue and describe all of the places that I have spent time in over the years. I intend to go right back to my childhood and cover all of the place related stories that have made up my life.

I’ll run you through a quick summary of the have-beens for now :

New Zealand

From Napier to Spirits Bay (east coast by boat)

Cape Reinga to Wellington (inland by car)

90 Mile Beach to Wanganui (west coast by both)

Mount Hutt to Kingston (south island by car)

The World

Singapore

India

Melbourne Australia

Tasmania Australia

LAX

England

Wales

Scotland

Cornwall

Ireland

London

Holland

Germany

Additionally, I’ll likely be going to the following places fairly soon!

Edit: This list is out of date, and no longer pending Lindsay’s approval, we broke up shortly after I wrote this post!

Planning To Go

Barcelona - Spain : Booked!

The rest are pending Lindsay’s approval! And funding…

Le Mans - France

Amsterdam - Holland

Munich - Germany

Vienna - Austria

Venice - Italy

Rome - Italy

Naples - Italy

Split - Croatia

Islands - Greece

Paris - France

Perhaps Others?

I’ll start writing some of them up with copious pictures soon enough!
